I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have 14 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults. I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and have a Master's Degree in Social Work. I have been a resident of Pittsburgh for 36 years and currently live with my wife and three cats.
I am a humanistic therapist and believe that therapy is beneficial for all people, not just those who have psychological issues and/or mental illness. A key concept of humanistic therapy is that people are basically good and take personal responsibility for self-growth and fulfillment. I practice total acceptance and a non-judgmental approach. It's my hope that this fosters a safe, secure and supportive environment and it gives you the freedom to express how you really feel.
My specialties include: Trauma and PTSD, mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder and LGBTQIA issues. I am a board certified EMDR Therapist as well as a board certified Transgender Care Therapist.
One of my favorite therapy quotes is: "I am a lighthouse, rather than a lifeboat. I do not rescue, but instead help others to find their way to shore". If you are searching for the way to the shore, I believe I can help.
